When writing to creditors and credit bureaus, you must be assertive. Be clear about the fact that you know your rights as a consumer and that if they’re violated, you’ll have to take further legal action.
Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want when dealing with creditors. You’re more likely to have negative information removed if you’re polite, but firm. Be clear that you’re willing to work with them and pay your balances, but you expect them to work with you as well.
